Houman Jalaie is a consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon, director of European Venous Centre University Hospital Aachen.
In 2011 he was appointed as a consultant vascular surgeon and lecturer at University Hospital Aachen. At 2012 he led the establishment of a program for venous surgery and intervention which grew to be one of the largest in Europe. In July 2019 he was appointed as the Director of the European Venous Center. He is course director of the venous section of the European Vascular Course (EVC) in Maastricht and one of the Directors of Venous Symposium Europe. In 2019 Dr. Jalaie was appointed as the Head of the Phlebology Commission of the German Society for Vascular & Endovascular Surgery. His special interest are treatment of DVT and PTS.
Dr. Jalaie has been a principal or co-investigator in several clinical trials and studies involving interventional treatment of DVT and PTS. To date, he has authored or co-authored more than 100 scientific publications, abstracts and book chapters. His latest are papers involving innovations in endovenous treatment of deep venous pathologies and its outcome. He has given over 400 invited lectures at national and international meetings and is a consultant to many medical device manufacturers.
